Respect For All Week

Brooklyn: P.S. 119 Amersfort School of Social Awareness

In 2010, Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes held a Bullying Video Contest as part of their Legal Lives program. This is the winning video created by teacher, Genevieve Berretta, featuring Nairan St. Phard and Jeremiah Hyde, who were fifth grade students at P.S. 119.
A special thanks to Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes for supplying this video.

Nairan and Jeremiah are not the only anti-bullying rappers at P.S. 119, 5th grade teacher Genevieve Berretta works with her entire class of students to create anti-bullying raps.

In fact, the entire school pledges to keep the peace and respect each other with their Peace Builders Pledge!

Peace Builders Pledge!
I pledge. . .
*To praise people
*To give up put downs
*To seek wise people
*To notice and speak up about
hurts I have caused
*To right wrongs
*To help others

I will build peace at home, at school,
and in my community each day.

This story is part of a series to promote the ongoing school-based programs and activities through the Respect For All initiative.
