SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST

Level A Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes the relative value of building materials and systems involved in various construction projects.

  • Makes recommendations involving feasible alternative designs considering construction costs, estimated cost of maintenance, energy use, life expectancy and replacement costs.

  • Develops assessment procedures and standards; conducts qualitative and quantitative performance reviews of professional and technical consultants.

  • Records and reports all significant deviations and potential problems that may affect budgets, quality, safety or schedule of construction projects; analyzes deficiencies and identifies appropriate corrective measures to be implemented.

  • Interacts extensively with a wide range of consultants, contractors and governmental agencies to develop accurate and timely valuation reports.

  • Performs related tasks.

Level B Responsibilities:

  • May perform the responsibilities of a Senior Construction Assessment Specialist, Level A.

  • Recommends policies and procedures pm value engineering related subjects.

  • Participates in setting performance standards for ht engineering phase of new construction, renovations and system replacements.

Required Background (Experience/Education):

  1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;

    and

  2. Specialty technical skills applicable to the areas to be assessed or evaluated;

    and

  3. Level A positions require eight years of full time work experience preparing estimates or valuations of construction projects’ components; four years must be in an administrative or supervisory capacity;

    or

  4. Level B positions requires ten years of full time work experience preparing estimates or valuations of construction projects’ components; five years must be in an administrative or supervisory capacity;

    or

  5. A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
