Environmental Impact Studies

  • On behalf of the New York City Department of Education (DOE), the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) proposes to construct a new school campus in the Forest Hills section of Queens that would provide a total of approximately 1,900 additional public school seats. The campus would accommodate two school organizations: one approximately 1,000-seat high school serving students in grades nine through twelve, and one approximately 700-seat intermediate/high school serving students in grades six through twelve. The campus would also provide approximately 200 seats of capacity for District 75 special education students. The property is vacant and is owned by the SCA.
  • On behalf of the New York City Department of Education (DOE), the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) proposes to construct a new school campus in the Concourse Village section of the Bronx. The proposed site (Block 2443, portion of Lot 78) is a former rail yard whose grade is located approximately 15 to 30 feet below the street level of Concourse Village West, which is the only public street that adjoins the site. The property is vacant, owned by the City of New York, and under DOE’s control.
  • On behalf of the New York City Department of Education (DOE), the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) proposes to convert the former Brooklyn Family Court building in Downtown Brooklyn into a public high school facility containing up to approximately 1,075 seats.
