Non-public schools approved by New York State (article 4201, 4410 and 853 schools) serving New York City students are responsible for assisting the New York City Department of Education in managing and collecting the documents needed for Medicaid reimbursements for related services. The NYC DOE is utilizing EasyTrac™ to assist schools with center-based programs in managing these needs.
Physician Referral Program for NYSED Approved Schools
The Office of Medicaid Operations, in conjunction with the Office of School Health, is sponsoring a new program by which physicians employed by the City of New York visit schools and observe students recommended for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and/or Speech/Language Therapy on their Individualized Educttion Programs (IEPs) in consideration of a prescription for the service.
New York State approved non-public schools are responsible for obtaining prescriptions for services annually. Participation in this program allows a physician to visit your school(s), observe NYC students with IEPs, discuss with your school’s therapist and, if warranted, write prescriptions on site. These prescriptions can be immediately uploaded and entered into EasyTrac in order to satisfy your schools’ compliance requirements.
The physician’s services are provided at no cost to your school.
