Cascades is a Transfer High School where students, ages 17 - 20 can complete Regents' high school course requirements and ultimately earn a high school diploma.
Cascades High School’s distinctive quality resides in its personal approach to each child’s education. Our success rests in our ability to individualize our graduation plans and “backwards plan” every student’s path to graduation. We meet our students on a one-to-one basis and we provide them with the support, instruction and encouragement necessary for success.
Most students enter Cascades having experienced a larger traditional and impersonal educational experience. They arrive looking for a school that can provide individual support, a quality education and flexible programming. Cascades High School provides such an academic setting and embodies the principles that underpin our educational policies and practices. Challenge Every Child Academically, Believe Every Child Can Do Well, Develop Student Efficacy, Stand With and Support Every Child Unconditionally. Our vision is to develop a school in which every child is supported, taught, academically challenged and treated as if they were our own children.
Classes are enhanced with a strong advisory and leadership program. Guidance is provided for college and career counseling while students enjoy a comprehensive Learning To Work component. Student internships, clubs, organizations and teams complement the overall activities of the school. For information on how to apply, students should contact the school directly and supply a recent transcript for evaluation. Admissions interviews are required.
