STORM DAY PROCEDURES
(School Closings and Delayed School Openings)
In the event of stormy weather conditions, the Chancellor will make the decision whether to close or delay the opening of schools. Listen to information broadcast by news radio stations such as WCBS (880 AM), WINS (1010 AM), WXLX (620 AM), WLIB (1190 AM), WADO (1280 AM), WKDM (1380 AM), WSKQ (97.9 FM), WBLS (107.5 FM) and “NY1” (Channel 1 on cable television) which will announce school delays or closings as close to 6 a.m. as possible.
If the Chancellor announces a two-hour delayed school opening, staff will report as follows:
Staff who are scheduled to report at 7:50 a.m. will report at 9:50 a.m.
Staff who are scheduled to report at 8:39 a.m. will report at 10:39 a.m.

Official school attendance will be taken through period 4. For combined classes, attendance will be the responsibility of the covering teacher. It is expected that we will adhere to the dismissal time indicated in the time schedule. In the event that the storm intensifies during the school day, the Chancellor will notify radio and television media of an earlier dismissal schedule. No schools may close or open late without the Chancellor’s authorization.
