Teaching and Health Professions House
(Application Code M24C)
In the Teaching and Health Professions house, we believe that education is more than just classroom instruction. That is why students who are part of our community are offered fieldwork opportunities, as well. Experience is a great teacher. Through internships, mentorships, and a variety of electives unique to our community, students develop the patience, knowledge, flexibility, and compassion to work effectively with all people. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism, including rigorous accountability, clear communication, and respectful interactions with each other and with people outside of our community.
Work at Sleepy Hollow Preschool, our onsite preschool serving children in the local community.
Work at The Epiphany School — a parochial grammar school nearby.
Work at Bank Street Headstart — a comprehensive preschool with a unique educational philosophy.
Participate in our Mentorship Connection through the Manhattan-Staten Island Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Here you will shadow professionals in the healthcare field for part of the week and complete your own research project under the guidance of your mentor.
