Dear PS 242 Family,
My name is Denise Gomez, and it is with great excitement that I greet you. I am the new principal of P.S. 242 and I have spent my entire educational career working to improve instruction for the children of New York City. As the instructional leader of the Gwendolyn Powell Brown Computer School, it is my goal to collaborate with you and our teachers so that we can nurture and educate our future leaders.
As I prepare for the rest of the school year, I want you to know how eager I am to work with you and your children. Each and every student is very important to me. Our school’s mission is to create a learning environment in which all students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
In addition, we will concentrate on scholarship, respect, and leadership as we continue to increase student achievement. We will push our students and ourselves to learn more, be kinder to one another, and always make good decisions. Through effort, hard work, and clear directions we will enrich the lives of our children. You play a big part in this plan since you are our partners on this wonderful journey.
