School Day

Elementary Grades K-5
Students are allowed in the building at 7:35 am (not earlier.) Supervision and security are in place at 7:30 am.

Students are escorted from the auditorium to the cafeteria at 7:45 am for breakfast. Supervision continues until 8:30 am when the classroom teacher arrives to pick up her/his class.

After 8:00 am, all students are to be dropped off in the cafeteria, by using the entrance close to the park near 3rd Avenue to wait for the teachers. Parents are not allowed in the cafeteria and/or the classrooms unless they have an appointment. Parents must enter through the near entrance and show I.D.

Late students must stop at the Principal's Office (Room 109) to receive a late pass. Latenesses are reported to the Central Department of Education, who will in turn call parents at home. If a parent arrives late with a child, the parent cannot go to the classroom.

All stuents are dismissed at 3:00 pm in the lower yard. Parents are to enter the lower yard by the 109 Street/Third Avenue entrance. Students must be picked up promptly at 3:00 pm.

No student can leave the school alone before dismissal time.

If a parent wants to pick up a child before dismissal, she/he must first obtain a pass from Security. After obtaining a pass, proceed to the TAG Principal's Office to sign your child out. At that point, an office assistant will telephone the child's classroom or go to the classroom to get the child.

Parents are not allowed in the halls and classrooms during instructional day, unless an appointment was made.

Middle Grades 6-8

Students can enter at 8:00 am for breakfast only!

All other students must enter the school at the back lower play yard.

                Exit 11 - Grades 6
                Exit 1 & 2 -  Grades 7 & 8

Students who are not eating breakfast must wait outside in the yard until the security officer blows the whistle for them to enter.

Students are not allowed to go in and out to the cafeteria. When the weather is inclement, students may enter the cafeteria and sit quietly in one place until it is time to go to class.

Students who are disruptive will not be permitted to enter the building until 8:37am.

Dismissal

All students must leave the building and the premises through the designated exits promptly at 3:00 pm.

Students in Grades 7 & 8 must exit through Exits 1 & 2 of the building near 3rd Avenue. Students must leave the sidewalk immediately.

Students in Grades 6 must exit the building and premises through Exit 11, the 6th grade corridor.

Middle School

The school will be open for breakfast at 7:55 am. Breakfast ends at 8:20 am.

Students must report to homeroom at 8:35 am every morning. First period begins promptly at 8:30 am. Students who arrive after 8:30 must report to the Office (EB 12) to complete a late pass.

School ends at 3:00 pm every day.
