Our extracurricular activities consists of a sports clubs, peacemakers's club, nutrition club, scholar's club, newspaper club, art/music clubs and Friday Clubs.
We are extremely proud of our Newspaper Club. Students are constantly interviewing their classmates, staff, and parents throughout the school building and within the local community. They report on school events, field trips and current issues. Our student reporters are mentored by Reed Publishing Company and the West Harlem Group Associates to enhance their knowledge of journalism. The school newspaper, "The 411 at the Mahalia Jackson Academy" is published on an annual basis.
The
West Harlem Group Associates are working collaboratively with our students to improve their technology skills. We are also excited about working in their new state of the art computer lab.
