Our goal for the Duke Ellington School is to create an enriching environment that meets and exceeds the Standards by providing students and the community with extensive educational opportunities. In technology, the arts, and sciences, we will promote academic achievement and dual proficiency by teaching and encouraging racial, ethnic, and cultural sensitivity; tolerance; and cooperation. Our mission is to also meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of our ELL's and Special Education students through our various educational programs and resources. We seek to foster greater harmony with the community by challenging all of our students to achieve their fullest potential, by creating a love of learning. We will develop lifelong learners and leaders who will demonstrate respect for themselves, as well as others.
