Principal's Message
Welcome to P.S. 5!
Our goal this year is to strengthen our P.S. 5 professional learning community in order for all students to achieve high academic standards and be life-long learners.
At P.S. 5, our community shares common beliefs and values, which include providing quality instruction so that all children can reach their full potential, understanding that intelligence is not fixed, but that it improves with effort, and holding all members of the school community to high expectations.
Our community shares a collective focus on student learning and success and therefore we continuously monitor progress to inform instruction so that student needs are met. We also understand that individuals hold varying roles and responsibilities within the community.
Finally, our community expects professionals to engage in reflective dialogue, plan collaboratively, and welcome transparency of practice.
