ESL (English as a Second Language)

The ESL teacher works with small groups during the school day, the extended day period as well as in the Title III Afterschool Program, to provide support in all four language modalities to English Language Learners.

The students receive scaffolded instruction in thematic and content vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and comprehension and writing strategies.
