Overview

In partnership with Citizens Advice Bureau, and under the guidance of New Visions for Public Schools, the Jill Chaifetz Transfer School is a second-chance school for students who are considered "over-age and under-credited."  Working closely with teachers and advisors, students receive the necessary academic and social support to help them earn sufficient credits to graduate with a traditional high school diploma.

Students may earn up to 18 credits per academic year, and also receive academic credit, or a financial stipend, for internship placements.

Mission Statement:

Jill Chaifetz Transfer High School is a small transfer school dedicated to providing a challenging education to students who have previously been excessively truant or who have dropped out of high school. Founded through a partnership with the Department of Education, Citizens Advice Bureau and New Visions for Public Schools, our school's mission is to help all of its students earn a high school diploma and prepare for post-secondary success. Our relationship with Citizens Advice Bureau strengthens our ability to serve our students effectively, providing academic support and social services to ensure student success.
