The mission of the Richard R. Green Educational Complex is to create an environment that focuses on the interests, abilities and talents of all students in its domain. We, the staff, parents and students at Middle School 113 are committed to providing our students a challenging curriculum that is rigorous, innovative and focused on addressing the New Standards (both content & performance). This will be accomplished through the collaborative efforts of the school, home and community using all resources available from both public and private sectors. It is the intention of the Richard R. Green Educational complex to ensure that all students are academically and technologically prepared to meet the challenges of the future as productive, caring, lifelong learners.
Students participate in ballroom dancing, instrumental and choral music, art studio and Chess program. They also participate in a community service program (Penny Harvest), multicultural/assembly programs and peer leadership activities. Student writers/artists contribute to the publication of literary magazines.
P.S. 119 works in partnership with the YMCA, Boy Scouts, Studio in a School, Learning Through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP), Music Outreach, the NYC School Volunteer Initiative and the Common Cents Foundation. Scholarships are provided to deserving students through our Parents' Association.
