Our mission is to create a literate, nurturing, and safe learning environment that will maximize the potential of each student. We believe that all children can learn and need to be provided with meaningful and challenging learning activities, which include technological skills, that encourage active participation and exploration in order to meet the New Performance Standards. We also seek to promote a learning environment that encourages love, respect, sharing, caring, honesty, and the appreciation and acceptance of cultural differences. Through the cooperation and involvement of school staff, parents, students, and the community at large we will work together to promote and foster academic excellence. We want our students to become knowledgeable, ethical adults who are responsible members of their family, the business community, and society.
During the second half of the school year the upper grade students participate in club activities. Character education sessions are facilitated by The Leadership Program. Ongoing cultural and art activities are promoted by Project Arts.
We have a partnership with the Mary McLeod Bethune Learning Center sponsored by the Grace Gospel Church. We are affiliated with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Resource Center. Our students will take part in The Brother's Keepers Of Empowerment ceremony to acknowledge the achievements of the graduating 5th grade class.
