    ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

         The practices and materials of the New York City Department of Education’s Comprehensive Literacy Program are aligned with both the NYS Content Standards and the NYC Performance Standards. The level of support provided to the classroom teachers has increased. Additionally, to meet the needs of those students with the greatest need, the level of intensity of instruction in literacy is increased in proportion to their needs.........
