IS 229 staff works collaboratively with parents and community stakeholders to provide students with high quality educational experiences in a safe and nurturing environment that enables them to meet all standards and become life long learners. Students in all three of our Academies are provided with a strong academic background based on the NYS curriculum and NYS/NYC Standards. Along with this, we encourage our students to explore their academy themes and lead their lives characterized by integrity, intellectual values, social responsibility and service. Grades 6,7 and 8 enjoy membership in their chosen academies while grade 5 serves as an exploratory year learning about all three of the academies prior to making their 6th grade choice.
