DETENTION

DETENTION

Scholars will receive detention for breaking any infraction that relates to the Twelve Non Negotiable rules and regulations. Scholars who come to school late and/or out of uniform will receive an automatic detention for the day. Scholars are required to be in full uniform as they enter the F.D.A.III school building. If a scholar is caught out of uniform at anytime of the day they will be given detention. Uniform detention will be served during lunch. Homework and late detention will be served after school. Scholars are considered late at 8:01. Late scholars will not be allowed in their 1st period class and will receive an automatic “0” for the class. Scholars who are required to serve detention after school will receive a minimum of 45 minutes for detention in which they are to make up any work that they have not completed. If a scholar is given after school detention they are not allowed to attend any extended day activities (Lab, P.M. school, Gym, ASPIRA, etc).

Scholars in detention must:

1.      Arrive on time – (Scholars will be assigned extra time for being late; Scholars must still serve their full detention time in addition to extra time for lateness)

2.       Scholars must be silent and prepared to work

3.      Complete written assignment

4.      Complete homework assignment(s)

5.      Hand in work at the end of the period

6.      Remain silent

Consequences for not showing up to detention

Scholars will be given an additional detention day.

If a student still fails to attend detention they will be given 3 detentions and a call will be placed home warning of a possible suspension if the detention is not completed.

If a student still fails to attend detention that scholar will be given in-house suspension (3) and will still be responsible for making up the detention days that are required.

If a student still fails to attend detention that scholar will be given a home suspension (5) and required to make up all days missed for detention.
