RKA Dress Code
At RKA, we do not require a uniform, but rather we encourage students to make smart, professional, and appropriate choices from their own wardrobes.
TOPS - No tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, strapless tops, or tops that expose the midriff. All ladies' undergarments must be covered by the top or blouse worn. For young men, basketball jerseys and sleeveless shirts are allowed, provided a shirt with sleeves is worn underneath.
SHORTS - Shorts that fall within 4 inches of the knee are ok. Short-shorts are not acceptable.
SKIRTS - Skirts that fall to within 4 inches of the knee are ok. Mini-skirts are not acceptable.
JEANS AND PANTS - Jeans and pants must be free of tears and holes, especially in the thingh or hip area. Pants must be worn at waist level and cover the midriff and undergarments.
LEGGINGS - Leggings are very fashionable now. Leggings may be worn under outer clothing, however, the outer clothing must still meet the requirements set out above - as if the leggings were not worn at all.
SHOES - Sandals that stay on the entire foot are ok, but flip-flops are not. They present a safety hazard when walking around the school.
HEADGEAR - Hats, scarves, do-rags, or other headgear is not permitted.
Students who come to school improperly dressed will be asked to put on their gym uniform or something from our gently-used clothing bin that is more suitable. Repeated infractions will result in more serious consequences.
