Technology Program

    Students in grades 1-5 participate in daily Technology instruction learning such applications as MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and are integrated with Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies.

    Students use the Internet to learn reading and math skills.  Students use websites such as: www.starfall.com and www.uptowneducation.com.

     

     

    Technology Grants

    Learning Technology Grant – The purpose of the Learning Technology Grant (LTG) program is to improve student academic performance in relation to the New York State learning standards with a particular focus on mathematics Pre-K-12 and English Language Arts (ELA) including early literacy, through the integration of educational technology in classroom activities. 

     

    NYS Title II B

    NY State Math Science Project, Project Starship – this program is a competitive grant program intended to increase academic achievement of students in mathematics and science by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers.  Students create websites that are Science based.

     

    The Digital Immigration Project, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Grant (STEM) – PS 306 is in its second year as a participant of the STEM Grant.  STEM is a professional development program for K-12 teachers implemented over a three year period.  Teachers and students participate in Video Conferences with such providers as NASA and the Cleveland Park Zoo.  Teachers and students also participate in an innovative program that uses iPods to learn math concepts.
