Our Mission

P.S. 78 is "Working Towards Success". We are committed to providing a nurturing environment which will enable all students to learn and achieve high academic standards. We envision our students developing into lifelong learners, active thinkers, responsible and caring citizens. Towards this goal we work collaboratively with students, staff, parents and the community to prepare our students for the 21st century. Our aim to reduce class size in Grades K-3 this year was one initiative taken towards achieving this mission. Many academic intervention services are also provided including Title 1 Reading & Math, small group instruction and Extended Day classes. A variety of professional development is provided for staff through workshops, common planning and intervisitations. Parents participate on committees and attend meetings, workshops and school activities. We are all learners working towards the success of our students.
