Social Studies

PS54360.jpg picture by jenrose76We teach social studies through experiential activities, research projects, investigations using primary resources, community walks and family studies.  The early grades study community by asking questions about their own school, homes, neighborhoods, and the concept of citizenship.  In the upper grades, students study city, state and national history, including Native American life in New York, colonial and Revolutionary periods in the US, and the growth of American industry, immigration, cities and government.
