The Spanish speaking community in America continues to grow and change. The influence of Spanish culture is increasing in the United States and around the world. We want to prepare our students to be competitive in our growing global society by having fluency in both English and Spanish.
There are still openings in our Dual Language Program which will begin with a Kindergarten class this coming school year. It is open to all students, regardless of ethnicity or ability. Families who enroll their children in this program should understand that it is a long-term commitment over the course of their child’s elementary education in order to maximize the full benefit of the program. The program is designed to teach skills and subject areas in both languages to develop academic proficiency.
By setting high expectations and offering a rigorous academic program we aim to address the achievement gap of our English Language Learner population, develop an appreciation and respect for cultural diversity amongst our students and promote the multilingual and multicultural competency necessary to be successful in a global market.
