“KNOWLEDGE OF THE LAW IS POWER IN THE WORLD”
The Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice (SLJ) is a new school in Region 8 that will prepare students for college and beyond through a rigorous academic program with an emphasis on law and debate. Students are supported during their academic careers by personalized relationships with teachers and administrators.
As part of a four-year sequence, students learn about and experiment with law in their own school, law in their city, state and country, and law around the world and throughout history. Our school provides students with an opportunity to participate in the democratic process through involvement in Student Council, Town Hall meetings and Youth Court. All students will be placed in a law-focused internship where they will develop communication skills and an understanding of the role law plays in society.
