MS 50 is located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. It is a comprehensive middle school that is divided into three separate, distinctive, and themed Academies.
- SEAL - The School for Exploratory Academics and Leadership
- NBA - The North Brooklyn Academy for Math and Sciences
- PAM - The Bridge Academy for the Performing Arts and Media
The themes are designed to provide our students with a concentrated area of study that reflects both their interests and their talents. Although each Academy will focus on its own particular theme, they will still adhere to the New York State and City Curriculum and Performance Standards. Each academy will also use the same balanced literacy approach and provide its students with a rigorous academic program and a purposefully designed testing program.
Each Academy is headed by its own administrator. The building principal oversees all of the Academies and is the instructional leader of the school. The principal will bring additional collaborations and partnerships to the school to enhance the academies and ensure that each academy provides a small nurturing environment for all students.
Our over-arching mission of the Williamsburg Middle School Academy is to provide our students with the emotional, social and educational foundation they will need to build a successful future.
Our motto is: Everyone Succeeds, No Exceptions, No Excuses!
