At P.S. 157, every individual becomes a product of a learning community that promotes the highest degree of personal and academic achievement. This is accomplished through promoting a belief that every member is an integral component in our community's success. We promote nurturing the abilities and talents of every child, educator and parent through varied learning opportunites and resources, thus developing their inner assets. We at P.S. 157 believe that for children to succeed in the educational process, every member of the learning community must be lifelong learners themselves.
Our purpose is to provide a child-centered environment that will inspire and challenge all of our students to become independent thinkers, problem solvers and life-long learners and to work as a collaborative unit to ensure that all children reach their academic goals. We strive to maximize each student's potential and prepare young minds with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a technological society. Also, we provide a wide range of academic programs and services in our efforts to strive for excellence.
