MS 582 community proudly lends a hand to Haiti...

Dear Parents/Guardians,

     In the wake of the earthquake that has devastated Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, the MS 582 comminity would like to contribute to the relief efforts. Our hearts are filled with great sadness and it is important for all of us to come together and to show our support for those who are in need right now.
     Thursday, January 21, 2010, will be designated a School Spirit Day honoring Haiti, when our hands will reach across the ocean to support Haiti. All students are can purchase a NUT Card on Wednesday, January 20, and Thursday, January 21. Each student who purchases a NUT Card will not be required to wear their uniform on Thursday, January 21. Instead, we suggest students wear blue, red and/or white in honor of the colors represented in the Haitian flag. The proceeds from the sale of each NUT Card, in addition to donations from MS 582 teachers, staff & administration, will go directly to the Mayor's Fund for Haiti Relief.

     Como consecuencia del terremoto que ha devastado a Puerto-Au-Principe, Haiti, la comunidad MS 582 quisiera contribuir a los esfuerzos de la relevacion. Nuestros corazones se llenan de gran tristeza y es importante para todos nosotros venga junto y demostrar nuestra ayuda para los que esten en necesidad.
     El Jueves 21 de Enero de 2010, sera un dia para que la escuela honre Haiti cuando nuestras manos alcanzaran a traves del oceano para apoyar Haiti. Todos los estudiantes puenden comprar un 'NUT Card' el Miercoles 20 de Enero o el Jueves 21 de Enero, por la mañana. Cada estudiante que compra un 'NUT Card' no esta requerido de usar su uniforme el Jueves 21 de Enero. En lugar, sugerimos que usen azul, rojo y, o blanco, en honor de los colores representados en la bandera Haitiana. Los ingresos de la venta de cada tarjeta, ademas de donaciones de los profesores y administracion de MS 582, iran directamente al Fondo del Alcalde para la relevacion de Haiti.
