Speech and Language
A mandated service provided to assist students with speech and language development as indicated on their Individualized EducationProgram (IEP).

A mandated service provided to assist students with motor development as indicatedon their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Special Education Teacher Support Services
(SETSS – formerly known as Resource Room)
A mandated service provided to assist students with academic and cognitive development as indicated on their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Counseling
Our Guidance Counselors’ offices are located in Room 136. We have a full time and a part-time Guidance Counselor who provide both at-risk and mandated counseling services. They also work collaboratively with parents and children to resolve conflicts creatively.
Individualized Education Program (IEP)Team
Formerly known as The School Based Support Team (SBST) – consists of a Bi-lingual School Psychologist, a Bi-lingual Social Worker and a Family Worker. They work collaboratively to maintain the caseload of children referred for special education evaluations. The Psychologist and Social Worker may also provide counseling services and consultation with parents to assist students with special needs.
Child Study Team
The Child Study team consists of the Guidance Counselor, Assistant Principal and other school professionals who work together to decide the best alternative for children who may be experiencing academic, emotional and/or behavioral concerns.
Intervention
At P.S. 38, we are firm believers in meeting and supporting the individual academic needs of our students. Through various intervention services, we are able to ensure that No Child Is Left Behind. We strive to guide children to their full academic potential. At our core, our goal is to make sure that every student feels empowered by his or her accomplishments.
