Social Studies

Our school is comprised of two distinct academies. Each academy offers our students an opportunity to explore a particular course of study.

Block Room Program

Grades: Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1, & 2

 In  our brand new Block Room, children in grades pre-k, k, 1 & 2, are given  time and space to investigate and explore the world of building, in a classroom  devoted solely to blocks.  Block  building gives the children at PS 38 an entry into the world of mathematics, an  opportunity to be creative and a chance to work together to build social   skills and self-confidence.  Block  building is integrated into our social studies curriculum in these early  grades.  Second graders build  bridges and imagine what New York City looked like at the time of Peter  Stuyvesant.  Kindergarten and firstgrade and pre-k build communities and freely explore their own personal  interests.  At PS 38 we are excited  about the challenges that our new Block Room offers our children.
