The cornerstone of our literacy program is children's literature. Engaging students in lots of reading begins with a 90 minute literacy block five times a week for read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, self-selected independent reading and writing. We have Reading Recovery for our struggling first grade readers. Our school library offers all genres of wonderful books for all levels of readers.
Our mathematics program, Everyday Math, is supported by our math coach and ongoing professional development.
We have a rich technology program and an interactive blog which is used by both teachers and students. There are computers in every classroom and laptop cards available to 2nd and 3rd floor classrooms.
Our after-school enrichment program offers a variety of creative and interesting ways for our students to thrive socially and academically. They play baseball, chess, math games, and more. There is a school newspaper club, a drama club, an art club, and a yoga is in session! Two afternoons a week you will hear the chorus hard at work preparing for their next event!
