The
School-to-Work Initiative is a work study program at Lillian Rashkis
High School that offers students the opportunity to develop the types
of behaviors and skills that will make them successful in their adult
lives. Our goal is to prepare our students to enter the work force as
productive and fully participating citizens of the community.
Our
work sites include Kings County Hospital, Ft. Hamilton Army Base, Coney
Island Hospital, Victory Memorial Hospital and Maimonides Hospital. The
work experiences that our students are involved in cover a variety of
different areas such as food service, hotel service, retail supermarket
training, clerical training, patient care, early childhood training,
general maintenance, horticulture, and printing services. Many of our
students continue in their placements after graduation as full-time
employees. The students in the program are experiencing great success
and will graduate from high school prepared to pursue their personal
and career goals to the fullest.
