High School Students Can Apply to Science and Math Institute
High schools / Deadline: June 1 / Event: June 30-August 8
High school students in grades 9-11 are invited to attend the 2008 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Institute (STEM) at City College from June 30 to August 8. The STEM Institute was initiated in 1992 to ensure that Hispanic Americans, female, and other under-represented minority students achieve academic excellence by means of a continuous programmatic support during their pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate years. Students who successfully complete the program will receive either one elective high school credit or college credits. The course will run Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with additional tutoring sessions offered every day from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Students must apply by June 1 at www.ccny.cuny.edu/engineering/stem.
