Faculty Welcome

The members of the United Federation of Teachers at PS 229 welcome you to our school’s website. Our commitment to excellence in education begins right here at PS 229 with the children entrusted to our care. Through participation in the School Leadership Team and the Parent-Teacher Association, we –parents, administration and staff – collaborate by setting goals and implementing programs to nurture the whole child as an individual and as a member of society.

Our staff partners with parents and guardians who are primarily responsible for the education of their children. As teachers we work hard to provide a well-balanced academic program in the classroom, with family support and participation both in school and at home.

Education provides an opportunity for the child to soar to places where even their teachers and family members have never dreamed. We pledge to continue teaching the children using proven methodologies that meet the New York State higher learning standards, a commitment to excellence in education.

As a school community, may we work together to provide a balanced education fostering positive goals and dreams in our children – for the sake of our children.
