        P.S. 247 has a long successful tradition of excellence. A dedicated and talented staff works tirelessly to achieve and maintain high standards in all curriculum areas. This school has been placed on the Chancellor's Honor Roll, has been designated as an Exemplary School and has received the Title I Distinguished School Award.
       Our goal is to provide a quality, well-rounded education to all of our students. Administrators, teachers, staff and parents, collaborate with community members and outside agencies to bring in special programs which enrich the lives of our students.
       A beautiful, clean, safe environment is provided where teaching and learning take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and concern for others.
       The new millennium presents us with new challenges as we continue with our mission to provide the finest quality education for all children at P.S. 247.We strive to ensure that our students have a strong foundation in all curriculum areas.
