PS 177's mission is to guide all students to achieve their maximum potential through a supportive, nurturing environment, aspiring towards excellence based on the performance standards. Our children's unique needs and talents are developed so that they will acquire the knowledge and skills needed for citizenship, employment, lifelong learning and competent living. Our teachers: produce high levels of student achievement; enable students to achieve the performance standards; nurture creative ability; promote respect for cultural differences in all; and foster the idea that children learn with and from each other in cooperation. Our parents: work in partnership with school staff; encourage reading and thinking; help children develop their unique talents; and instill caring and respect for all people.
