Our educational curriculum incorporates the balanced literacy approach, Columbia Teachers College, to teaching reading as well as the Everyday Math Curriculum. Using the workshop model in all curriculum areas, students receive individual, differentiated instruction.
Extensive enrichment in technology (smartboards ,PC lab, & laptops), library science, physical education, science lab, art, chorus, instrumental music and dance helps foster increased knowledge and self esteem. We feature an Academy for Environmental Studies that integrates our new Edible Schoolyard with our current science curriculum, in our new science lab. Our new science lab enhances our young students hands on experience allowing them to reach for the stars. The Robinhood Library is a once in a lifetime experience, that our students enjoy every day of the school year. Our Robinhood Library is the only library of its kind in the New York City Public School system.
Extra curricular activities include club periods, a Student Government Organization and a school incentive store.
We teach life long values through positive examples and we currently have a mandatory school uniform policy.
