STUDENT LIBRARY

We are pleased to announce that our new student library is fully functioning.  Our new library provides many resources for your child and our teachers.  We have over 3,000 new literary titles that are managed by a bar coded scanning management system to control the distribution and receipt of books.  This resource center is equipped with a state-of-the art Smartboard System that will allow teachers to conduct instruction to students and access the internet. Our new library resource center is furnished with new furniture that makes it comfortable for your child to engage in active research and learning.

In addition we have obtained a hard copy and electronic version of the World Book Encyclopedia.  Your child has access to the
World Book Encyclopedia on-line from home free of any charges
or fees.

Our newly renovated and fully equipped resource center
was made possible through the support of
                  Councilman Domenic M. Recchia Jr.
Council Member Recchia is an alumni of IS 228 and a champion
of education for all children across New York City.  Councilman Recchia provided over $100,000 in Reso A funds for our school community to create this new resource center for our students and teachers. We thank Council Member Recchia for his significant support in meeting the needs of the students at
David A. Boody.
