Physical Education Classes
The K-5 physical education classes follow the Physical Best Curriculum. This curriculum is city-wide and focuses on developing health related physical activity and instilling skills in students that they can use to live an active life long after gym class is over. The Fitnessgram helps to give the parents and students an idea of how healthy they are. All children will receive a fitnessgram report. For children in K-3 the report includes their BMI and suggestions for healthy eating and physical activities. For grades 4-5 the report is more extensive, and includes how they perform in physical tasks such as running, and push-ups. These fitnessgram reports are meant to develop conversations at home that will instill healthy and active lifestyles.
