Ms. Atsave's Science:
3rd Grade - Students have been busy working and discovering how simple machines make our lives easier.
We have constructed levers, inclined planes, pulley systems, wheel and axels, and have used wedges.
Next, we will study radiant energy. Students will prove that white light is made up of many different colors and discover how light travels.
4th Grade - We are working with magnets and electricity. Students will construct electrical circuits and learn which materials best conduct electricity. For our final invstigation, we will build electromagnets and learn how they are used in the workforce.

Ms. Ebrahim's class, 4-341, is participating in a special program with The Aisa Society Museum through Studio in A School. Their art projects will be exhibited in the museum in the spring. We will apprise you of the dates as the time draws near.
Ms. Solo's SCIENCE
The Kindergarten is finishing up a unit on Fabric-- in recent weeks we've done weaving, sewing and dyeing!! Next we're on to a completely different topic but no less fascinating-- hibernation and migration!!
Grade 1 is doing all sorts of investigations on the topic of solids and liquids. The students will soon be amazed by observing how water can evaporate but thankfully oil can not!
In Grade 2, we've recently explored gear and pulley systems and have just moved on to electricity. This week, the students constructed their own electric circuits. If you're not too sure how electricity is made and transported, just ask one of our second graders.
Fifth graders are becoming food and nutrition experts. They can now tell you the difference between saturated and unsaturated fats and have conducted a 'Fat Test' using samples of lots of different foods. We've recently explored the gory digestive system and are making are way into exploring the use of sugar in the body.
