The mission of the James R. Colgate School, P.S. 12Q is to prepare its students, including special education, bilingual, English Language Learners and high achieving students, for the twenty-first century. In order to accomplish this, we must create a warm, caring, nurturing environment where students can learn about themselves and others so that they will become responsible informed citizens. Literacy is the primary resource upon which students will draw in order to compete in a rapidly expanding global society. We must dedicate ourselves to creating lifelong learners. The mission requires the total cooperation and commitment of the entire school, (parents, staff and community) in our efforts to strive for excellence.
