Our Mission

All children can and will learn. We will create a place of learning for everyone - students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members, so that every child achieves the highest level of academic excellence as well as an appreciation of the arts. The educational, social, and emotional needs of all students will be addressed, enabling them to become productive citizens in our culturally diverse community.

Special Programs

Gifted and talented honors program; peer tutoring; Read Aloud; ELA Share Fair; Book Fair and Author Study; Math, Science, and Technology Fair; Schoolwide dramatic production; Interscholastic Math League; America's Choice Reader's Workshop, Writer's Workshop, and Math Workshop; four Schools Within A School; Extended Day Literacy and Math.

Extracurricular Activities

Our non-academic activities will include: Panasonic Kids Witness News; glee club, chess club, and orchestral strings clubs; March of Dimes Mini-Walk; Penny Harvest; 21st Century after school enrichment program, including music, dance, photojournalism, photography, drama, computer, creative, and instrumental music.

Our Community

We have sixteen partnerships: Robin Hood Foundation, Bronx Zoo, Carnegie Hall, St. Luke's Ensemble, Kids Project, Louis Armstrong Jazz, NYC Police Dept, NYC School Volunteers Program, New York Philharmonic, Moveable Museum, Newsday, Bond Street Theater, Museum of Modern Art, and Whitney Museum.
