Meet Our
Morning Announcers

Each morning two students to assist her in making the morning announcements over the school’s public address system. The announcement begins with the children leading the school in song, featuring hits like “You’re a Grand Old Flag”, “Come on Everybody, Let’s Get to School Each Day”, “The Official P.S. 28 School Song” and more. The two pupils then are asked to recite the names of the classes who have 100% attendance for the current day. Next,  the K.N.E.W. (Kids Need Extra Words) “word of the day” is announced. The announcers give their explanation of what the definition of the word may mean. The principal encourages the students to use the new K.N.E.W. in their writing, speaking and conversations throughout the day. This morning activity helps to build self-esteem and encourage language development in all students.
