Cave Paintings
The oldest cave paintings, from prehistoric times, can be found in France. Scientists believe that some can be up to 32,000 years old!
First graders studied these paintings, which are mostly of animals, and learned how to paint like cavemen! Using ovals, circles, rectangles and triangles, we created the shapes of horses, cows, bulls, deer, and rhinoceros with black and brown crayons. We crumpled up our paper to give it a rough texture, and painted it light brown like a cave wall.
