Overview

  • Rachel Carson I.S. 237 Magnet School for the Arts strives to achieve academic excellence by integrating music, visual arts, and theater across the curriculum. We excite and engage students by incorporating the arts to deepen students' understanding of core content while promoting an atmosphere of creativity, inquiry, and intellectual rigor. At the beginning of each September, students select an art or music class that interests them. They will then study their art of choice for at least two years. The classes currently available are: visual arts, chorus, strings, and band. Our arts after-school program has offering such as painting, guitar, musical theater, jazz band, advanced string orchestra, dance, film, and photography.
