Children learn by interacting with their environment; the natural and social world that surrounds them. Our school will build upon this interaction by creating confident learners who pose questions, explore problems and communicate solutions. Our partnership of families, teachers and college faculty will foster a school community where children think broadly, critically, and creatively about their world to build connections among all areas of knowledge.
To nurture each child's innate curiosity, the Queens College School for Math, Science and Technology expands the traditional boundaries of schools and classrooms so that children explore ideas. Student inquiry into the natural and social world is based on direct experience and the integration of thinking across the curriculum.
Children will become readers and writers, scientists and mathematicians, scientists and athletes, and artists of all disciplines in a safe and child-centered community.
