Jewish Museum

Cooper-Hewitt National Museum of Design

Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

Goethe House German Cultural Center

New York City Transit Museum

A great place to take kids, the museum offers artifacts from yesteryear including vintage subway cars, antique turnstiles, and much more.
New York Hall of Science

In 1986, an improved museum reopened with 25,000 square feet of exhibition space, new hands-on exhibitions, and a new staff.

Duty US Military/Museum Members/Child under 2: Free The Intrepid is a 40,000 ton, 900 foot-long aircraft carrier that served the Navy from 1943 to 1974. On board, you’ll find an awesome collection of aircrafts from WWII to the present including the world’s fastest aircraft, a Lockheed A-12 Blackbird. Also on display is the USS Growler, the only intact strategic missile submarine open to the public anywhere in the world. For an extra $5, you can fly your own jet mission on the Intrepid Navy Flight Simulator, a new motion-based thrill ride.

South Street Seaport

Here adults, families, and children can see, touch and enjoy the city’s rich and diverse maritime past in the 19th century district where it all began. Explore the decks and cabins of six historic ships, see exhibitions of maritime art and artifacts, discover New York’s archaeological heritage. Journey through the area’s stone-paved streets as well as the little shops all along he way. Learn to use a 19th Century letterpress, sail around New York harbor on a graceful twin-masted schooner or excursion vessel.
