Core Knowledge is a content-based program that has been implemented in Grades K-2. It is a solid, shared, specific, and sequenced curriculum that is embedded with rich literacy and vocabulary.
The major headings in Core Knowledge are Language Arts, History & Geography, Visual Arts, Music, Math, and Science. Some of the topics covered are: Ancient Egypt, American Revolution, Early Civilizations, The Human Body, Elements of Music & Art.
Resources such as The CK Sequence, What Your Nth Grader Needs to Know, The Teacher’s Handbook, Grace Abounding, and Joyful Noise are used in the program.
