The Rosa Parks School - P. S. 254 Queens - has created a learning environment in which the educators are dedicated to a quality education that maximizes academic achievement, emotional growth and social development for all students. Our teachers are all fully certified and prepared to help students achieve. Teachers use standard-based lessons in literacy, mathematics, social studies, technology, physical education, health and science with emphasis on data, differentiated instruction, as well as hands-on learning. These lessons are derived from research-based academic programs and methodologies. In addition, teachers certified in music and art enrich our curriculum to develop well-rounded students. This safe, orderly, and nurturing educational environment enables all students to achieve by developing their unique talents and individual attributes. Parental involvement and community-based partnerships help us achieve our goal - to prepare students who are problem solvers, fair-minded citizens, critical and independent thinkers, and productive citizens able to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
