The Scholars’ Academy, an accelerated college preparatory school for grades 6-12, located in Rockaway Park, Queens, understands the value of being good citizens and the need to give back to the community. This is especially true during the holiday season.
Students took time out from their days to spread holiday cheer and good will to senior centers in the community.

  • Members of the school band, cheerleading squad, drama class, and chorus each performed holiday themed numbers and spent time with the residents to help raise their spirits and show them that they are appreciated.  The students gained a valuable life lesson on the importance of helping others.

Over 150 sixth graders and nealry 100 seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth graders visited various senior centers throughout the Rockaway community and also helped to decorate storefronts for the holidays.  We are so proud of our students!!
